Below are some important dates for the upcoming VMTA Music Theory events:
Key Dates:
·       Monday, January 5 – Applications Open
·       Sunday, February 1 – Application Deadline
·       Saturday Morning, February 21 – Music Theory & Sight-Reading Tests
(Start time will be determined based on the number of participants.)
Please Note the Following Changes from Previous Years:
1.        The Sight-Reading Test fee is now $10 (previously $6).
2.        For those who are not VMTA/MTNA members, the syllabus, sample tests, and aural recordings are available for $14.00.

Theory Test:
This includes both a written and listening component.

VMTA Sight Reading Testing:
​Participants will be assessed on their piano sight-reading skills
​and will also answer aural questions.
Students can choose to take any level of music theory and sight-reading tests.
