Piano students ages 6–17 are invited to join us for JMU Piano Day 2026, an engaging, in-person event featuring workshops, discussions with JMU faculty, and age-appropriate piano activities on the James Madison University campus.

11:15 AM Piano: What’s Inside Jocelyn Chan, JMU Piano Technician Discover how the piano works, how it’s maintained, and what every pianist should know about their instrument. 12:00 PM Introduction to Jazz Piano Masa Ishikawa, JMU Jazz Professor A hands-on introduction to jazz piano, including basic styles, concepts, and improvisation.
12:45–1:30 PM Roundtable Discussion: “Ask Anything” An open Q&A with JMU piano faculty:
