November 2, 2024 HMTA Meeting:
Location: JMU Music Building Room 142
At 10 AM Dr. Steinberg introduced Terry Correia and the Piano Performance Team from North Carolina. After some brief comments, Ms. Correia welcomed her group of five students who performed a 55-minute program of solo and duo piano repertoire. Afterwards, Terry Correia and her team held a brief Q & A session with the audience before the young performers left for private lessons with the JMU Piano Faculty. In the second hour of the morning's meeting, Ms. Correia conducted a masterclass for three young piano students from the Harrisonburg community. The meeting ended promptly at noon. Approximately 35 members and guests attended the first hour of the meeting and about 25 people stayed for the second hour. No hospitality was provided for this meeting.
