"Music And/As Story"
by Dr. John Peterson

One way to think about performing music is to make an analogy to telling a story. That is, performing music is like telling a story through sound. If we think of music as a story, we might ask: what is the story about? In this presentation, we’ll consider how analysis may help our students create nuanced interpretations of works beyond simply “playing the notes,” and we’ll in turn think about how a process that considers music as story can help us engage with analysis in meaningful ways.

"Guiding Intermediate Students"
by Dr. Paulo Steinberg

Techniques for teachers help their intermediate-level students succeed as the repertoire gets more complicated.
