An initiative by HMTA to ease some of the access barriers to music education from underserved members of our community in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. We aim to provide a musical instrument and sponsored lesson time on that instrument to K-12 students.
The Yamaha Cares Program donated 42 recycled guitars and 24 nested drums to our local community arts partners Oasis Art and Crafts, who upcycled these musical pieces as reimagined art/decorative pieces. These were then sold with around 50% of the profits going to this project!
Thanks to our partners Yamaha Cares and Oasis Fine Art and Craft!
